One-on-one Advice and Support
This gift will cover the cost of a one-hour session with a caseworker, so they can get advice on everything from healthcare and education to how to find lost family members. Our staff can also organise groups or skills sessions for refugees to boost their confidence and wellbeing.
Arriving in a new, unfamiliar place can be overwhelming. We offer a programme of support for vulnerable migrants, refugees and people seeking asylum across the UK, tailored to their needs.
When 19-year-old Firty arrived in the UK from Sudan, he remembers feeling completely bewildered.
“Everything felt upside down. Everything was so different – the people, the language, the tall buildings and even the directions of the cars. [The British Red Cross] gave me books on becoming a refugee to help me understand what was going to happen to me. It really helped me. [A British Red Cross project] gave me information on how to get an education, find some housing and meet friends.”
Gifts of kindness are changing the lives of refugees and people seeking asylum across the UK, thanks to you.
