What do the British Red Cross do?
We help anyone, anywhere in the UK and around the world, get the support they need if crisis strikes. From hiring a wheelchair or dealing with loneliness, to adjusting to life in a new country - we’re there when you need us. Find out more about our work. How do the gift cards work?
We know that causes and communities are close to people's hearts. Our gift cards and eCards allow you to chose where your money goes and dedicate your gift of kindness to a friend or loved one.
All items and services have been chosen as they are urgently in need. So whether you’re covering the cost of a young refugee's school uniform, supporting a crisis response team in your local area, or reuniting a family torn apart by war, your kindness will have a huge impact.
Follow the three steps below to find out how to give a gift that gives back:
1 . Choose a gift
Have a browse and go for a gift that will support a refugee, or cover the cost of a local service near you – it’s up to you.
2 . Make it personal
Dedicate your gift of kindness to someone you love. It can arrive as a personalised e-card or a gift card in the post (£2). Just remember to include the recipient’s address on the product page.
3. Send your kindness
Add the gift of kindness to your basket and we’ll send out your e-card the next working day. If you select a gift card, this will arrive within 3-5 working days in the post.
Who are Urban Makers?
The British Red Cross has partnered with Urban Makers – a collective of independent makers who create beautiful, ethically made products with the environment in mind. Every time you buy from the British Red Cross Shop, you’ll be helping us carry out our life-changing work, as well as supporting independent designers across the UK.
We receive 10% of the total sales made through Urban Makers purchases. This revenue will allow us to continue to support others – from helping people home after a stay in hospital, to hiring a wheelchair, to reuniting families torn apart by war.
